Destination Wedding Photographer - Chateau de Lacoste
Kitty & Callum celebrated their wedding at the elegant Chateau de Lacoste in Dordogne — a historic French venue surrounded by open countryside and classic architecture. The day was focused on family, friends, and enjoying the relaxed charm of the estate. From a photographer’s point of view, Château de Lacoste is one of those rare wedding venues that feels effortlessly beautiful from every angle. Tucked away in the Dordogne countryside, the château overlooks the valley with sweeping views that change beautifully throughout the day, from soft morning light to golden sunsets. The combination of elegant French architecture, manicured gardens, honey-coloured stone, and rolling countryside gives every wedding gallery a timeless, romantic feel.
What makes Château de Lacoste so special is the variety it offers within one location. Couples can have intimate moments in the gardens, dramatic portraits against the château itself, and relaxed candid photographs around the pool or terraces without ever needing to leave the estate. The light here is incredible, especially in the evening when the warm Dordogne sun falls across the grounds and creates that dreamy glow photographers are always hoping for.
There’s also a wonderful atmosphere to the château that guests instantly relax into. Because the estate is completely private, weddings feel personal and unhurried, allowing genuine moments to unfold naturally. From emotional ceremonies outdoors to candlelit dinners inside the grand salons, every part of the day feels elegant yet warm. It’s the kind of venue that not only looks stunning in photographs, but genuinely feels unforgettable to capture.
The ceremony took place outdoors, with guests seated on the gravel courtyard facing the château’s impressive stone façade. It was simple, personal, and full of genuine emotion — no over-the-top extras, just a beautiful setting and a couple ready to start the next chapter of their lives. Afterwards, everyone moved inside for dinner. Long tables lined the room, set with white linens, soft florals, and candlelight to create a clean and modern look. It was an atmosphere that encouraged conversation and connection — exactly what the couple wanted.
What stood out most about this wedding was the balance: refined details without formality, a stunning venue without feeling staged, and a group of people who were simply happy to be there supporting the two of them. As a destination wedding photographer, I love coming to France and exploring these gorgeous locations.
