Chewton Glen Wedding Photographer

Chewton Glen is in a league of its own. There's luxury, and then there's Chewton Glen luxury — the kind where every single detail has been thought about, where the grounds are immaculate, the service is flawless, and you feel like the most important person in the world from the moment you arrive. It's the kind of venue where you genuinely don't have to worry about a thing, and that shows in the photos — everyone is relaxed, happy, and completely present.

Chewton Glen is a 5-star country house hotel set in 130 acres of stunning Hampshire countryside, nestled on the edge of the New Forest and just ten minutes from the South Coast beaches. It's an 18th-century estate that has been beautifully maintained with this perfect balance of classic elegance and modern luxury. For weddings, there are six different ceremony spaces to choose from — the gorgeous Walled Garden for outdoor ceremonies, the light-filled Morning Room overlooking the croquet lawn, the intimate Marryat Suite, the stunning Lake Suite for larger celebrations of up to 140 for dinner, and even the Treehouse Hideaway Suite for the most intimate elopements. The food is exceptional — this is a hotel with a serious culinary reputation — and the 58 bedrooms plus 12 Treehouse Suites mean your guests can stay in absolute luxury. The spa is world-class too, which makes it perfect for pre-wedding pampering.

As a Chewton Glen wedding photographer, what I love most is the sheer quality of the setting. The grounds are breathtaking — manicured lawns, ancient woodland, the glen itself, beautiful gardens — and they give you incredible variety for portraits. The Walled Garden is particularly special for ceremonies, surrounded by climbing roses and sheltered from the breeze. And the light here is gorgeous — the combination of the New Forest setting and the proximity to the coast gives you this soft, warm quality that I just love working with. Inside, the rooms are elegant without being intimidating, with beautiful natural light from the large windows. Everything just looks and feels special.

Jon & Maddy's wedding at Chewton Glen was pure luxury from start to finish, but with the most relaxed, happy atmosphere — exactly what a Chewton Glen wedding should be. Jon & Maddy are one of those couples that I instantly gelled with, such lovely people and so great together.

Maddy & Jon had a beautiful intimate ceremony in the Morning Room surrounded by a select number of family and friends. This beautiful light and airy room is licensed for up to 80 guests for a Civil Ceremony. Completely adaptable around you, a more intimate setting with a sofa set up for cosy comfort or a larger affair with seating.

After a quick confetti exit, the couple and their guests enjoyed champagne and canapes in the courtyard which is surrounded by pretty hydrangeas and lavender, and looks out onto the main greens and gardens at Chewton Glen. The flowers were the perfect backdrop for family photos, so this flowed really well as it was all in the same space! After some time with guests and with the group photos completed, we went for a relaxed walk around Chewton Glen's gorgeous grounds and took some portraits. Dinner in the Lake Suite was exquisite — Chewton Glen's reputation for food is completely deserved — and the evening was one of those nights where nobody wanted to leave.

Chewton Glen represents the very best of Hampshire luxury. It's grand without being stuffy, polished without being cold, and the level of care from the team is genuinely outstanding. As a photographer, working here feels like a privilege — the venue does so much of the heavy lifting when it comes to creating beautiful images. Every corner, every garden, every room is photogenic. And because the guests are so well looked after, everyone is relaxed and happy, which always makes for the best photos.
