FARBRIDGE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
There's something about Farbridge that makes you exhale the moment you arrive. Tucked away in the South Downs with rolling green fields stretching out in every direction, it feels like you've found this quiet, beautiful corner of the world that's completely yours for the day. The barns are warm and full of character, the courtyard is gorgeous, and the whole place has this effortless, laid-back charm that I absolutely love.
Farbridge is an award-winning barn wedding venue nestled in the South Downs National Park near Chichester in West Sussex. The venue is a series of beautifully restored barns and outhouses dating back to 1825, originally an old dairy farm. The spaces are connected and flow naturally into one another, which gives the whole day this lovely, seamless rhythm. The Meadow Barn is where ceremonies happen — it's light, airy, and intimate with beautiful exposed beams and soft natural light streaming in. There's also the option of an outdoor ceremony in the courtyard with the rolling hills of the South Downs as your backdrop, which is just stunning. After the ceremony, guests drift into the courtyard for drinks and canapés before dinner in the main barn, where the in-house chefs create incredible menus using fresh, seasonal ingredients. The venue hosts 60-150 guests and has seven en-suite bedrooms plus private rooms for the couple, so your closest people can stay over and you get that lovely house party feel.
As a Farbridge wedding photographer, what I love about this venue is the combination of that rustic barn character with the incredible South Downs landscape outside. The interiors are warm, textured and full of beautiful details — oak beams, stone walls, soft lighting — and then you step outside and you've got these sweeping views across open countryside. For couple portraits, the fields and paths around the venue give you these natural, relaxed backdrops that feel completely unposed. And because the barns connect so naturally, I can move with the day without ever feeling like I'm missing moments — everything happens within this lovely, contained space.
Matt & Jess's wedding at Farbridge was one of those days where everything just flowed beautifully — sunshine, laughter, amazing food and the most gorgeous South Downs light.
The ceremony took place in the light-filled Meadow barn, with pretty pastel flowers setting the tone. Later, guests spilled into the courtyard for drinks under the sun, surrounded by sweeping views of the South Downs. Dinner in the barn was incredible — the food at Farbridge is honestly some of the best I've had at any venue.
From evening portraits in the fields to a packed dance floor under fairy lights, it was a joy to capture every moment. Being a Farbridge wedding photographer means having the opportunity to document celebrations in one of Sussex’s most charming venues — and this one was truly unforgettable.
Farbridge just gets it right. It's relaxed without being casual, beautiful without being fussy, and the team there are some of the best in the business — they've won national awards for a reason. The food is exceptional, the setting is breathtaking, and the whole experience feels personal and special without ever being overwhelming. It's the kind of venue where guests kick back, enjoy themselves, and you end up with photos full of genuine, happy moments.
