Findon Place Wedding Photographer
Findon Place feels like being invited to stay at the most beautiful country house you've ever seen — and being told the whole place is yours for the weekend. It's private, it's elegant, and it has this wonderful warmth that makes you feel completely at home the moment you walk through the door. It's one of those venues where the house itself becomes part of the celebration.
Findon Place is a privately owned Grade II* listed Georgian country estate nestled in the South Downs National Park in the village of Findon, West Sussex. The house sits on 53 acres of private grounds with beautifully manicured lawns, abundant floral borders, a walled garden, and views out towards Cissbury Ring and the rolling South Downs. It's exclusively yours for the weekend — not just the day — which gives the whole celebration this relaxed house party feel. Couples and their guests arrive on Friday, settle in, and really get to enjoy the place before the wedding itself. The house has five gorgeous guest bedrooms, a swimming pool, a tennis court, a billiards room, and these stunning entertaining spaces including a grand ballroom that seats up to 120 and a beautiful hall for more intimate ceremonies of up to 72. There are also three licensed outdoor ceremony spaces in the gardens, which are absolutely gorgeous in the warmer months.
As a Findon Place wedding photographer, what strikes me every time is the quality of light in this house. The Georgian windows are generous and the interiors have been beautifully restored with a soft, neutral palette, so natural light floods through the rooms in the most gorgeous way. It makes getting-ready photos look effortlessly beautiful, and the ceremony and reception spaces just glow. Outside, the gardens give you endless options for couple portraits — the formal lawns with the house as a backdrop, the flower borders bursting with colour, or the wider parkland views stretching out across the Downs. And because the whole estate is private and tucked away, there's this lovely sense of seclusion — it's just your people in this beautiful setting, with no distractions.
What makes Findon Place truly special is that it feels personal. It's not a conveyor belt venue — it's someone's home, and that warmth comes through in everything from the thoughtful touches to the way the team looks after you. The house has this timeless, quintessentially English elegance that photographs beautifully, and the grounds are a dream to work with in every season. It's the kind of place where every photo feels effortless because the setting does so much of the work for you.
Findon Place is one of those rare venues that strikes the perfect balance—elegant but not overdone, timeless yet relaxed. Set in the West Sussex countryside, this privately owned estate offers a stunning backdrop for modern, stylish weddings with a personal feel.
The soft light, classic interiors, and peaceful gardens pair beautifully with my photography style—romantic, relaxed, and quietly modern. It’s the kind of place where natural moments shine and every detail feels effortless.
This day was planned by the talented Helen Cawte and Emily Charlotte, with floral arrangements by Fig & Flower, gorgeous gowns by Jesus Peiro , table linens and place settings by Maison Margaux, bar + cocktails Near and Far Mobile Bar, suits from Endrick Clothing.
