Bury Court Barn Wedding Photographer

Bury Court Barn is one of those venues that has it all — rustic charm, stunning gardens, and a team that makes everything feel effortless. It's the kind of place where you walk in and immediately feel at home, which is exactly the atmosphere you want on your wedding day. I've photographed some really beautiful weddings here and it never disappoints.

Bury Court Barn sits on a private 30-acre estate in the village of Bentley, right on the Hampshire and Surrey border near Farnham. The barn itself is a beautifully converted threshing barn with centuries-old oak beams, thick stone walls, and gorgeous natural light — it works brilliantly as both a ceremony space and a reception venue. What makes Bury Court really stand out though is the gardens. They were designed by the world-renowned landscape designer Piet Oudolf, and they're genuinely extraordinary — waves of ornamental grasses, wildflowers, and carefully crafted hedges that change with the seasons. As a photographer, having gardens like that to work with is an absolute gift. They provide stunning, natural backdrops for couple portraits without you needing to go anywhere — you're literally steps from the barn. The venue also has the Oast House with a lovely bridal suite, 15 boutique bedrooms so your guests can stay over, and both indoor and outdoor ceremony options.

As a Bury Court Barn wedding photographer, one of the things I love most is how the venue flows. The ceremony happens in the barn — beautiful oak beams above you, neutral drapes creating this intimate space — and then after confetti and celebrations, everyone drifts naturally into the gardens for drinks. It's that easy movement from inside to outside and back again that gives the day such a relaxed rhythm. And for photos, the combination of the rustic barn interiors and those incredible gardens means your images have a wonderful mix of textures and moods — warm and intimate inside, lush and colourful outside.

Beth + Luke's wedding at Bury Court Barn was a gorgeous laid-back celebration full of laughter , these guys brought the best vibe. Beth looked incredible in her custom Suzanne Neville dress, designed just for her — elegant, timeless, and perfectly suited to the relaxed but stylish feel of the day. Luke and the wedding party kept the atmosphere light and joyful, with plenty of smiles and a few happy tears along the way.

Beth and Luke chose to have their wedding ceremony at a nearby church which was very personal to them. After a big confetti throw everyone jumped in their cars and headed to Bury Court Barn to start really start the celebrations. Guests were welcomed with drinks on arrival while live music filled the courtyard, creating a joyful and relaxed atmosphere that everyone enjoyed.

Whilst guests relaxed in gardens enjoying drinks and canapés in the sunshine, we wandered through the Oudolf borders for couple portraits. We had some lovely low, golden light which was perfect. Dinner back in the barn looked stunning, and by the time the evening kicked off the dance floor was packed. Every moment felt natural and full of warmth — a true reflection of Beth and Luke and the love they share. Beautiful flowers by Three Wild Flowers.

Bury Court Barn strikes this perfect balance between elegant and relaxed. It's polished enough to feel special but laid-back enough that everyone just enjoys themselves. The barn has real character and warmth, the gardens are some of the best I've ever photographed in, and the team there are brilliant at making everything run smoothly without it ever feeling rigid or over-managed. It's a venue that lets you be yourselves, and that always makes for the best photos.
