Goodwood Wedding Photographer
Goodwood has this wonderful sense of occasion about it. It's a name that carries weight — people know it, they're excited to visit, and the moment they arrive on the estate and see the rolling Sussex Downs stretching out in every direction, you can feel the energy shift. It's special, and it knows it, but in the most welcoming way.
Goodwood is a 12,000-acre estate set high on the South Downs near Chichester in West Sussex. It's famous for the horse racing, the Festival of Speed, and the Revival, but it's also one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the South of England. The estate offers several stunning spaces for weddings — the Ballroom at Goodwood House itself is grand and elegant, Hound Lodge is a more intimate country house option, and the Kennels is a stylish contemporary space that works brilliantly for modern celebrations. What sets Goodwood apart is the scale and beauty of the setting — the views across the Downs are breathtaking, the grounds are immaculate, and there's this wonderful sense of being somewhere truly significant. The team at Goodwood are exceptional too — they're used to hosting world-class events and that level of professionalism and care extends to every wedding.
Anya and Sam’s wedding at Goodwood House was a masterclass in style, set against one of the most impressive backdrops in Sussex. The day kicked off with a relaxed morning of prep in Hound Lodge on the estate, followed by a ceremony in the light-filled Ballroom with it's wonderful sense of history and grandeur. Guests then spilled out onto the drive for a confetti throw, with drinks and canapés following after, framed by the house’s iconic architecture — perfect for candid moments and group shots without needing to stray too far. We made the most of the afternoon light for portraits under the stone portico and around the grounds. No fuss, no drama — just natural moments in a setting that doesn’t need much dressing up.
As a Goodwood wedding photographer, I love the sheer variety the estate offers. Whether you're in the grand Ballroom with its high ceilings and ornate details, or the more relaxed Kennels with its contemporary feel, or an intimate celebration at Hound Lodge surrounded by woodland, each space has a completely different character. And then you step outside and you've got the Downs — this vast, beautiful landscape that gives you incredible portraits with almost no effort. The light on the South Downs is something special, especially at golden hour when it sweeps across the hills. It's the kind of venue where every part of the day looks and feels different, which makes for a wonderfully varied set of images.
Goodwood is a venue that lives up to its reputation. The setting is extraordinary, the service is impeccable, and there's a sense of celebration that runs through the whole place. It's the kind of venue where your guests feel like they're somewhere genuinely special, and that energy makes for brilliant photos. Whether it's a grand affair in the Ballroom or something more intimate at Hound Lodge, Goodwood delivers.
